Your Friend on the Front Page

Jan 26, 2018
Kadie Johannson

Every week, the Mt. Pleasant News will feature a Henry County resident in a profile snapshot. The questions will appear in bold.

This week’s ‘Friend on the Front Page’ is Kadie Johannson, whom you may know from the RSVP program at The Fellowship Cup.

Are you originally from Mt. Pleasant/Henry County? If not, what brought you here? I spent my childhood years visiting my Grandma and Grandpa Dennison every chance I got. So when I graduated college I moved down here and got a job at the Chamber; the rest is history.

What is your favorite part of living here? The big town amenities with a small town feel. Also, the heart of the community is its people - if I need help, there’s always someone who I know by name that I can call.

What do you like to do in your free time? I enjoy acting and directing plays in the theater. Don’t forget to attend and participate in the Mt. Pleasant Community Theater, we have a show coming up in February.

What do you think is Mt. Pleasant/Henry County’s trademark? Its people, of course. People here are so generous with their time, talents and treasures - that’s why I love being the program director for Henry County Retired Seniors Volunteer Program at the Fellowship Cup.

What’s one dish or drink that reminds you of Mt. Pleasant? Sarsaparilla soda from the Log Village, Jerry’s special pizza, Butch’s tenderloins...there’s too many good eats around here.

Tell us something interesting about you? When I was in seventh grade, my teacher called my mom when I gave a book report presentation to the class on a nonfiction book about the stages of decomposition a human body goes through. Apparently, not everyone in the seventh grade wanted to be a forensic scientist like me!
